FAQ

Questions, answered straight.

Cost, setup, what works with what, and whether it actually moves the needle. If yours isn't here, just ask — we'll answer it straight.

Start it yourself

How do I start right now?

Download the app, sign up, and send your first video — about five minutes, start to finish. No website install, no waiting on IT.

Can I sign up myself, without my manager?

Yes. Trendsetter is built for the solo rep — you subscribe right in the app and start sending today. No GM signature, no sales call.

Is CarFilm an app?

Yes — on the App Store and Google Play (4.7★, 13K ratings, #5 in Business). Download it, sign up, and you're sending CarFilms in minutes. There's a Chrome extension too, so you can send from your CRM on a computer.

Getting started & cost

What does CarFilm cost?

Flat monthly pricing, per rooftop — no per-seat math. Plans start at $29.99/mo for one person (Trendsetter — $19.99/mo intro for your first 3 months), $199.99/mo for up to 5 people (Pro), $399.99/mo for up to 10 people (Pro Max — everything in Pro, just a bigger team), and $499.99/mo for your whole store with multi-store reporting (Unlimited — our most popular plan). Every login counts, managers included — they'll want one for reporting and managing the team. Annual billing is two months free. Running multiple rooftops or a group? Let's talk.

Do managers need their own login?

Yes — and they'll use it. A manager's login is how they pull reports, see who's sending video and who isn't, and manage the team. So every login counts toward your plan, managers included. And the best managers don't just watch the dashboard — they're recording right alongside their people, which is what gets a whole floor going. Plans are a flat price per tier, not per head, so adding a manager won't change your bill unless it moves you up a tier.

How long does it take to get started?

About a week, and only about 15 minutes of your team's time. Three steps: you sign the agreement, send us an accurate staff list so we can create logins, and we run a private live training session for your whole team. New hires get trained after that, too — turnover doesn't reset your investment.

Is there a contract?

No long-term lock-in. It's month-to-month, cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.

How it works

Who makes the videos?

The salespeople you already have, on their own phones, using the app or Chrome extension. No film crew, no editing, no studio. Their face, their voice, their customer. A video takes about 60 seconds to record and send.

How is this different from just texting a video?

Two things. When you text a video file, it compresses badly and you're guessing whether anyone watched. With CarFilm, the video plays clean, you see exactly who watched and for how long — and instead of sitting in a text thread, it plays right on top of your own website, where the customer can keep shopping your inventory.

What link does my customer actually get?

Your website's address — always. CarFilm runs through a script installed once on your site, so every film you send opens on your own domain with your live site behind it. No third-party page, no strange shortened link. Every dealer, every film, no exceptions.

What do I actually see on my end?

Every view, replay, and click — tracked in real time and tied back to the rep who sent it. You get a push alert the moment a customer watches, so you know who's warm before you pick up the phone. Managers get a dashboard that works for one rooftop or fifty.

For the team

My team doesn't have time for this.

A CarFilm takes about 60 seconds — it replaces the long email or the third voicemail, not adds to them. And unlike that voicemail, it actually gets watched: more than half of CarFilms sent get viewed, versus a 21% email open rate.

What kind of training and support do we get?

A private live Zoom session for your whole team at launch, plus ongoing training for every new hire. You're never training alone, and you're never starting over when someone new joins.

Compatibility

Does it work with my CRM?

Yes. Your team sends CarFilms from inside the CRM they already use — VinSolutions, eLead, DealerSocket, DriveCentric, Tekion, Reynolds & Reynolds, and more. Nothing about their workflow changes. If you're on something we haven't named, just ask — we'll confirm it.

Does it work with my website provider?

Yes. CarFilm works with effectively any dealer website — Dealer Inspire, Dealer.com, DealerOn, Sincro, Dealer eProcess, and others. If your video should play on a specific page, we'll handle the technical setup with your website vendor directly.

Proof

What other dealers use CarFilm?

Leading groups including Hendrick, Lithia, Asbury, Serra, and Nucar, plus single rooftops across the country — over 11,000 sales pros in all. We've been a Porsche Cars North America approved vendor since 2020. Happy to connect you with a store near you that's on CarFilm right now — talk to them, not just us.

Does it actually move the needle?

Across CarFilm: 52% of CarFilms get watched (vs. 21% email open), with 51 seconds of average watch time and 71% finishing the video. 58% of views drive a visit back to the dealer's own website. At Mercedes-Benz of North Olmsted, 48% of closed deals over one quarter had a video on them — and those deals closed 3.3 days faster.
